DARK CIRCLES: HOW TO GET RID OF THEM?

Causes and types of dark circles

Lack of sleep and stress are often associated with the appearance of dark circles and bags under the eyes. But these are not the only factors! The shape of the dark circles can tell you a lot about their origins.

DARK CIRCLES - PUFFINESS

Dark circles are those that give the impression of “puffy eyes”. Often visible in the morning, their effects fade after a few hours. But if they persist, there are solutions to reduce them.

How to get rid of them?

  • Reduce salt, tobacco and alcohol consumption (responsible for water retention in the eyelids)
  • Drink enough water
  • Getting enough sleep
  • Apply cold to your eyelids
  • Use a suitable treatment such as our Eye Illuminator

The Eye Illuminator detoxifies and revitalizes your eye area, neutralizes pollutants and strengthens the skin’s barrier. Its composition rich in Vitamin C visibly reduces the puffiness effect.

BLUE CIRCLES - PURPLE

This type of dark circle is related to poor blood and lymphatic circulation of your lower eyelid. This type of dark circle usually affects fair skinned people. Blood pools in this area and gives that dark appearance. There may also be a genetic factor.

How to get rid of them?

  • Get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night
  • Avoid sources of stress
  • Apply cold to your eyes. We advise you to use spoons that have been frozen beforehand. If you use ice cubes, avoid putting them in direct contact with your skin by wrapping them in a thin cloth.
  • Use an ice-cube effect product to wake up your skin without damaging it. We highly recommend our Ice Stick Eye Contour Concealer with its decongesting effect and anti-ageing action.

Advantages of the glazed stick:
– Reduces puffiness
– Reduces fine lines
– Smoothes and firms the eye area

HOLLOW CERNES

Unlike other dark circles, hollow circles are caused by the ageing of the skin. These dark circles are V-shaped under the eyes. A small cluster of fat forms. This is due to the loosening of the supporting fibres and/or muscle loss in this area.
