Hydrates and repairs the lip area

As we age, the area around the lips becomes marked and fine lines appear. This hydrating and restorative formula reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by dehydration. Serious Lip Repair nourishes, hydrates and protects the lips and improves definition. As the days go by, fine lines seem to fade away. Your lips look smoother and fuller.

How are the lips different from other parts of the body?

The lips are unique and are unlike any other part of the human body.

The outer layer of your skin is called the epidermis and has a protective coating called the stratum corneum. Under the epidermis is another layer of skin, the dermis. Like the rest of the skin, the lips also have these three layers; the difference is that the stratum corneum of the lips is much thinner than anywhere else on the body.

– The lips have no sebaceous glands, which help hydrate the skin. The only source of moisture for the lips is saliva; this is why they can easily become dry and chapped.

– The skin of the lips is hairless, just like the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. Even if you can’t see them, hairs cover the body to form an effective layer of protection against external damage. Unfortunately, the lips don’t have any hairs and are therefore much more vulnerable.

– Another important difference is the thickness of the outer layer of the stratum corneum, which is usually extremely thin or even completely absent.

– The lips have virtually no melanin, the natural pigment that helps the skin protect itself from the sun’s harmful rays. Melanin is the body’s natural way of protecting itself from ultraviolet rays. Because the lips have no melanin, they are more likely to burn in the sun.

Because of these significant differences, you need to take particular care of your lips to ensure that they stay soft and hydrated.

Moi qui ai les lèvres très sèches à l’approche de l’hiver, c’est le produit qu’il me fallait! Je le met avant de dormir, et après quelques utilisations seulement, je vois déjà des résultats. Pratique pour l’hiver!!!
